Designed to offer city views, the new venue is expected to offer an array of globally-inspired cocktails, boldly-flavoured food and the latest tunes from around the world.
Z Bar features four indoor settings, plus a private salon and a lively outdoor terrace from which views of John Hancock building, the historic Water Tower and other Michigan Avenue landmarks can be enjoyed.
Maria Zec, general manager, The Peninsula Chicago, is Peninsula Hotels’ first female general manager, and is the person after which Z Bar is named.
“We have collaborated to create a vibrant and immersive atmosphere that is inspired by the world’s cultural and culinary riches,” enthused Zec. “It’s a space designed to delight and stimulate the senses through exciting and unusual experiences that both visiting guests and Chicago residents can enjoy.”
The bar’s beverage menu is designed by Vlad Novikov, director, Cocktails and Culture, with his concepts featuring a range of drinks brought to life through striking presentations and a focus on freshness.
Some cocktails are made tableside from a roving cart, while others incorporate luxe touches such as gold leaf, caviar, tonics and spices sourced from around the globe.
