American Airlines Welcomes New Onboard Chefs

American Airlines is now offering new premium cabin meals with locally-inspired cuisine on some of their long-haul international flights.

Jun Kurogi, owner, Kurogi Shiba Daimon Tokyo, is to join the team with traditional Japanese meals, and they are expected to be available only for premium cabins on flights from Tokyo Haneda and Tokyo Narita to the US. Kurogi's meals are designed alongside the airline’s Pacific Joint Business partner Japan Airlines.

Meanwhile, renowned Chef Sean Connolly's menu will enter premium cabins on flights from Auckland and Sydney to the US. Included within the full menu is a small appetiser, a salad, four main dishes and a dessert. Additionally, Chef Maneet Chauhan is using her culinary expertise to design the premium cabin menus on flights from China to the US, which are expected to be onboard this summer. Presently, Chauhan designs the premium cabin menus on flights from the US to Europe and between the US and South America.

Overall, these improvements are the latest long-term investments that American is making to enhance the customer experience.
