Classic High Tea Comes to Outrigger’s Castaway Island, Fiji

The tradition of the classic High Tea has become a daily ritual at Outrigger’s Castaway Island, Fiji with the introduction of an exclusive tea menu.

Beginning May 24, Castaway Island, Fiji started serving high quality leaf teas featuring blends from many estates to guarantee the purest expression of flavour.

Served between 15:00 and 17:00 daily at the Waters Edge Restaurant or in the privacy of guests’ own bures, the afternoon High Tea also features a selection of delicate cakes, pastries and savoury offerings. These include homemade raisin scones and smoked salmon and cucumber tea sandwiches.

Significantly, tea plantations were established in Fiji in the late 1800s at Wainunu on Vanua Levu to provide European plantation owners and the colonial government with income.
