Despite the dramatic difference in both size and weight, Porsche managed to seize the Guinness World Record title for successfully towing a 285 tonne Air France Airbus A380.

The Porsche Cayenne S Diesel, driven by Richard Payne, technician, Great Britain, Porsche, towed the aircraft over a distance of 42m at the Air France H6 maintenance hangar at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, improving on the previous of record of 115 tonnes.

"Our cars can go a bit beyond what our customers might expect, they are designed to be tough.

But even so, what the Cayenne did today was remarkable, we drove the car here from London and I plan to drive it home again, having towed an A380 in between," revealed Payne.
