IATA Forecasts Demand for Private Jets to Grow

According to International Air Transport Association (IATA), passenger numbers will continue to rise this year, expected to reach 4.3 billion.

KlasJet, a European business aviation company, noticed this trend with the rising number of flight requests received by private jets.

Dovydas Jurgelevicius, CEO, KlasJet, noted, “Comparing 2016 and 2017, the number of requests increased more than twice over. This leads to the number of requests received already [this year], which helps us to forecast a minimum 46.5 percent growth in requests compared to 2017.”

IATA revealed that passenger traffic is expected to rise six percent, slightly down on 2017’s 7.5 percent growth, but still above the 5.5 percent average witnessed over the past 10-20 years, which will exceed a 5.7 percent capacity expansion.
